About Us

Family Owned

Born and raised in Juneau, Alaska, Steve Box has been an Alaskan fisherman for over 40 years. At just 13 years old Steve crewed with a family friend, apprenticing as a commercial fisherman. In 1990 Steve bought his own boat, and started Worthy Seafoods in 1997. Steve is a well-known commercial fisherman in Southeast Alaska who is praised for his quality seafood products and highly respected for his stellar fishing ethics. One of Steve's dreams has always been to sell his fish directly to you - the consumer.

Steve and Molly in the dorms at MSU

Steve and Molly met in college their freshman year in Bozeman, Montana. They both skied for Montana State University. Steve was a downhill ski racer, and Molly, being a Minnesotan and used to flat land, skied for the nordic ski team. Molly was captivated by Steve’s stories of life in Alaska - fishing, hunting and boating. In 1993 they were married and made Juneau their permanent home. Their two children, Corey and Nikki, grew up on and around the ocean and enjoy crewing with their dad on the Worthy. The Box family understands and appreciates how privileged they are to live and work in the bountiful wilderness of Southeast Alaska harvesting Alaskan Halibut in the pristine waters of Glacier Bay.

Nikki

Nikki has a deep love for the ocean and has always been fascinated with sea life. She spent many hours studying animals in her own temporary aquariums aboard the Worthy. She is Steve's main crew for halibut fishing and the Dungeness crab season.

Corey

Corey worked for several seasons with Steve on the Worthy and helps out behind the scenes.
